Stay off sports fields, city says

Just because the weather is getting warmer doesn’t mean it’s time to rush to the local soccer pitch or break out the baseball gear and head to the diamond just yet.

Residents are being asked to stay off sports fields and baseball diamonds to allow the turf to grow for the upcoming season.

According to a city release, ball diamonds are off limits until May 1 while access to sports fields isn’t permitted until May 15.

Organizations with official city contracts can use facilities, but only on the dates specified in their contracts, weather permitting.
