Opening of new east-end park this weekend

A new municipal greenspace is set to be unveiled in the east end, with an official launch of the area’s latest park scheduled for later this week.

Provence Park, located on the corner of Provence Avenue and Plainhill Drive, will be opened on Saturday, Sept. 12 as part of a joint venture between the city and the Portobello South Community Development Association (PSCDA) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The park’s opening ceremonies are slated to begin at 1 p.m.

In addition to hosting the PSCDA’s first-annual association BBQ, the day’s events will also feature a mini-trade show of sponsors and partners, as well as children’s games and entertainment.
