Local travel agent wins top award

Ottawa based travel specialist Sheila Gallant-Halloran recently won the ‘Best Canadian Travel Counsellor’ award from the Travel Counsellors at its annual conference in Manchester, UK. The local businesswoman joined Travel Counsellors in August 2008 and has since watched her business pick up, achieving sales of over half a million dollars, which makes her one of the company’s top performers. Gallant was one of just 21 of the company’s 1,100-plus Travel Counsellors to be presented with an award at the company’s annual conference. She and other Travel Counsellors from across the globe enjoyed a weekend of celebration as a reward for their work. The award was particularly special to her as this was the first ‘Best Travel Counsellor’ award presented to a Canadian agent following the company’s launch in the country in June of last year.
