Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation announced Monday it would shut down the overpass for several months.

The $11 million project, which will see the construction of an extra lane in each direction and ramp improvements at St. Laurent Blvd., is designed to ease congestion on one of the busiest thoroughfares.

Commuters who generally use the bridge will have a shuttle bus at their disposal. Construction work is expected to take 10 months to complete.
