East-end councillor to seek federal nomination

Innes Coun. Rainer Bloess has announced he will throw his hat into the federal ring during the next election, according to media reports.

With long-standing rumours of a shift to federal politics, Bloess confirmed earlier this morning he will seek the Liberal nomination in the Ottawa-Orléans riding, said CBC Radio.

The riding is currently held by Conservative MP Royal Galipeau, serving his second mandate in the east end since the fall.
