The St. Peter Knights won the National Capital boys’ contact hockey championship yesterday by sweeping Colonel By 2-0 in the championship series with a 5-3 victory at Earl Armstrong Arena.

Peter Cook, Sean Adams, Sam McLaughlin, Marcus Heinonen and Curtis Craney-Plouffe scored in the final game for the Knights, who beat Colonel By for the fifth time in a season where they suffered only one loss in league play.

St. Peter defeated Merivale and All Saints earlier in the playoffs, while Colonel By took out John McCrae and St. Joseph. The Knights won the first game of the championship series 2-1. They now move on to play in the Ontario high school championships March 25-28 in North Bay.
