Eight-year-old boy cuts his hair for cancer
Last week, Taylor Mollison, an eight-year-old boy from Orléans, decided it was time to cut his hair that he had been growing for 20 months. He wanted to donate it to a company that makes wigs for kids who are fighting cancer. Taylor, who is a cub in Pack B of the 4th Orléans Scouting Group, gave a small presentation to other cubs and leaders of his Pack about cancer and how it has affected him and his family, prior to having his hair cut at Fallingbrook Community Elementary School. As part of the presentation, Taylor asked that the Pack B Akela – or leader – Jamie Jones, also cut his hair. Jamie agreed and had 12 inches of his hair cut off. Sporting a clean and much shorter military style cut, Taylor said he was glad to do it and is thinking about doing it again, just not right now. The hair that was cut will be shipped to a company called the Pink Heart Funds, located in Long Beach, Mississippi. Special thanks go out to Diu, from Magic Cuts on Trim Road, who came out to the school to cut their hair and who also gave them a great hair cut when it was all done. Photo submitted
