UPDATE: Bus catches on fire in Orléans
An OC Transpo bus caught on fire this morning (Thursday Jan. 7) around 7:30 a.m. in Orléans. The fire started in the rear wheel of the vehicle on the driver's side, according to a witness of the scene.
The bus was at the corner of Notre Dame and Orléans Boulevard. Three out of four lanes were still closed to traffic during rush hour.
According to an OC Transpo spokesperson, the fire was quickly extinguished. The vehicle was carrying students from École secondaire catholique Garneau on Carrière St.
No one was hurt during the incident, as passengers were evacuated quickly. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
