St. Peter grad earns back-to-back weekly honours in NCAA
Orléans native Courtnay Pilypaitis earned her second consecutive conference player-of-the-week award for the University of Vermont Catamounts women’s basketball team.
The St. Peter Catholic High School grad has racked up all kinds of distinctions already in her senior season of NCAA ball.
The list includes: all-time leader in three-pointers for her school and second in America East conference history, and the only player in league history to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.
Pilypaitis most recently led her team to two wins in league play this past weekend, earning the third triple-double of her career with 12 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists in her second outing against Albany.
The Catamounts are 13-3 overall this season, with a 3-0 record in league play, as they shoot to return to the NCAA final-64 tournament again this year.
