TORONTO - A look at Tim Hudak, the new leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative party:
Born: Nov. 1, 1967 in Fort Erie, Ont.
Education: Bachelor of arts (economics) from University of Western Ontario; Master of arts (economics) from University of Washington
Career: Customs officer on Peace Bridge during university; worked for Walmart when it launched in Canada; member of provincial parliament since 1995; Minister of Northern Development and Mines, 1999-2001; Minister of Culture, Tourism and Recreation, 2001-02; Minister of Consumer and Business Services, 2002-03.
Hobbies: Mountain biking, kayaking.
Family: He and his wife, Deb Hutton - former chief of staff to Mike Harris - have a 20-month-old daughter, Miller. For the record: "I'm somebody who doesn't believe that we need to choose between being conservatives and winning general elections."
