City waste depot coming to east end
Gloucester’s Robert O. Pickard Environmental Centre will host a one-day municipal hazardous waste depot next weekend.
The mobile collection depot will be held Saturday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to city information, at ROPEC in the Canotek Business Park. Only hazardous household waste will be accepted, to a maximum of 100 litres, including aerosol containers, camping propane cylinders, energy-efficient and fluorescent light bulbs and window cleaner.

Residents can also bring in seasonal items like pesticides, pool chemicals and BBQ propane tanks to the depot, while other ongoing initiatives are available for collection of items including waste oil, paint products and batteries.

For more information, please visit www.ottawa.ca or call 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401).
